Use Cases for Ibis Data Lake
Unlock the power of your data
Ibis Data Lake is a software solution for the implementation of Data Lake environment according to industry standard lambda architecture enriched with best practices developed by Ibis Group in various customer implementations. Solution provides a cost-efficient way for storing large volumes of different data typically originating from data warehouse, including structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
Our Data Lake serves as basis for tailored Ibis data analytics solutions addressing different use cases such as anomaly detection, smart capex, vehicle traffic management, virtual drive test, drive route optimization, etc. Depending on customer use case requirements, data lake can be implemented as on-premise or cloud-native (via Microsoft Azure, AWS or IBM Cloud) or as cloud or hybrid option.
Ibis Data Lake utilizes advanced object storage concepts instead of distributed file storage, enabling:
- Low hardware requirements
- Heterogenous storage and compute
- Extremely fast data processing
- High scalability and easy maintenance via fully open-source architecture
Ibis Smart Capex Planning
Network planning processes will assume a new importance in the 5G era, by enabling the right investment decisions at the right time and in the right places. A fundamental reappraisal is needed if mobile operators are to maximize ROIC and enable network planning activities to meet wider business objectives. By automating planning processes, operators have much to gain. Error-prone human interventions can be minimized, and the barriers presented by organizational touch points can be reduced. Capex planning will need to keep customercentricity at its core. This strategy links network planning, customer experience and business objectives. Also, it will enable communication service providers (CSPs) to allocate capital on the basis of overall increase in customer value — not just network KPIs.
With capex planning tools that can continuously ingest massive amounts of additional data from customer care functions, social media, crowdsourced apps and business support systems, operators can understand exactly how capex allocation will affect the customer experience. This will enable them to deliver better differentiated network quality to key customer segments and in specific geographic locations.
Network planning driven by AI and automation has the potential to deliver upside in three important ways by:
- Optimizing capex on the basis of value to customers
- Reducing customer churn
- Streamlining business processes and increasing ROIC
Ibis Virtual Drive Test
Ibis Virtual Drive Test (IVDT) minimizes the need for conventional drive testing by using operator KPI metrics and continuous measurements from mobile devices and provides automatic reporting on daily basis as extension to conventional drive tests. IVDT is very flexible in definition of observing and referent time interval where we monitor potential RF degradations. It can be manually set by customer or by system (default). Referent Time is interval used for benchmark. Observing time interval is time after the performance degradation occurred.
Module can works with sources. OSS KPIs can be used as alternative or extension to GEO Performance Metrics for some modules. GEO Performance module can be any GEO location tool or SDK tool. Note that SDK/Crowed sourcing can have limited IMSI enrichment due to GDPR constraints.
IVDT implementation results in:
- Detection of poor coverage areas
- Identification of pilot pollution
- Cross-feeder detection
- Detection of overshooting cells
