This year’s Red Hat Summit Connect 2025, held in Opatija, brought together leading IT experts, engineers, and business leaders from across the region – reaffirming that open technologies have become a key driver of digital transformation. Our colleagues Nikola Jocić and Nemanja Ružičić had the opportunity to explore Red Hat’s latest initiatives and gain insight into how the company’s innovations are being applied in practice – through the development, enhancement, and delivery of digital services.
The conference focused on artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and open-source solutions, showcasing through hands-on demonstrations and real-world case studies how an open approach can accelerate innovation and improve business performance. Both the plenary sessions and the technical tracks highlighted innovations driving the next phase of digital transformation – from modular cloud architectures and advanced AI models to integrated platforms that connect development, infrastructure, and security.
The session ”Any Model, Any Accelerator, Any Cloud – Red Hat’s AI Vision Uncovered” revealed the direction of Red Hat’s evolving approach to artificial intelligence – flexible, open, and infrastructure-agnostic. In the talk ”Accelerating Conversational AI: Chatbot and Voice Assistant Deployment on OpenShift AI”, participants saw how AI tools can be leveraged to accelerate the development and deployment of intelligent services across various industries. In the automation segment, the presentation ”Terraform, Ansible, RHEL Image Mode and a Food Delivery Guy” used a humorous yet technically accurate example to demonstrate how automation can simplify everyday operations.
Significant attention was also drawn to enterprise case studies and real-world experiences. The session ”From VMware to OpenShift Virtualization: Lessons Learned from Enterprise Migrations” provided concrete insights into transitioning to modern, cloud-native environments, while ”Harnessing AI in Business – Customer Case Studies” showcased tangible business outcomes achieved through the adoption of AI across organizations worldwide.
The event also served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and build new partnerships within the regional open-source community. Conversations with the Red Hat team, distributors, and partners opened up space for new ideas and joint initiatives, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that defines the open-source ecosystem.
